The page WORKSHOPS offers a general view on my different toy-making workshops and sessions (or "tools of the toymaker", which are suitable for different groups of participants, involving children and families).

Clicking on the image of the concker-soldier you get in TOYS. This page tells you something about my personal collection of accessible handmade toys. The collection was on display at the Museum of Childhood - London (from Winter to Summer 2007). The toy collection can be organised with two different criteria: one could be titled "I LOVE PLASTIC BOTTLES", a showcases toys made out of plastic bottles; the other one is "TOYS and RECYCLABLES", a showcases toys made with a larger variety of materials, tools and techniques.concker soldier

The Natural Rights page displays the CHILDREN'S NATURALRIGHTS manifesto of ten principles, which is a complementary way to improve the childhood condition as the “UN Convention of the children’s rights” tries to do. The ten principles are asking adults to be aware of the hazard of robbing the children’s best treasure: their childhood lived in accordance with nature.

With the page COLLECTIONS this website assumes a unique character.
It broadens your conception towards something alternative, a knowledge not so easily found for free. I am referring to some data and pictures showing handmade toys from other countries, all of them well described in their contexts. In this way the collections are giving us an occasion to compare traditional, old, native and locally child-made toys with those bought in the market of mass produced toys. And more than that, is giving us the chance to compare different childhoods, educational styles of different cultures and societies. So, there is plenty to learn for everyone. toy snake with wheels

The page TOYS IN THE BOX promote a really unique educational tool especially designed for the school.

With the page INSTALLATIONS I would like to pay my tribute to the artist Alexander Calder. They resemble the work of this major artist, expressing a joyful, simple and accessible form of Kinetic Art (a way to play with Gravity). Mainly, these installations are offering samples of what could be made also by ordinary people - children and parents, without special manual skills.

The page RESOURCES contain some sources of information that I have used to feed my alternative imagery and though about handmade toys and childhood, it could be of a great use if people working with me in long projects have a look at it, thus building up a common vision.

The aims is to revitalize what local children can do and make on their own, whether projects or toys. This helps to reinforce Children's local toy-making folklore, a thing that is - unfortunately - disappearing.
